Quick answers to common MINI questions about vehicle features, MINI Connected, tires, service, and financing.
Learn how to use popular MINI features like Head-Up Display, cruise control, speed limiter, and GREEN Mode.
To switch the MINI Head-up display on and off, select: "My MINI" > "System settings" > "Displays" > "Head-up display" and set or remove the checkmark. Depending on the production date of your MINI, you can also switch the MINI Head-up display on and off with a button.
You can deactivate Cruise Control with the "Cruise Control" button on the steering wheel. The button is located centrally on the left side of the steering wheel. Pressing the button again reactivates the function. The Active Cruise Control in your MINI is also deactivated when the brake pedal is pressed.
To activate the speed limiter in your MINI, press the "LIM" key on the steering wheel. The currently driven speed is taken over as the speed limit. When switched on at a standstill or at low speed, 30 km/h is automatically set as the limit.
To deactivate the speed limiter, press the "LIM" key again. The speed limiter is automatically deactivated if you switch off the engine, activate Active Cruise Control, or activate certain drive modes via the Driving Experience Control.
The GREEN mode in your MINI offers a consistently consumption-reducing setting for a maximum range. To activate GREEN, press the MINI Driving Modes switch down until GREEN is displayed in the instrument cluster.
If a warning light appears, check the message in your instrument cluster or central display for details. If the light is red, flashing, or the vehicle feels unsafe to drive, stop driving when safe and contact MINI Ottawa for next steps.
Reset tire pressure monitoring, know when to replace tires, and understand seasonal pressure changes.
Select: "My MINI" > "Vehicle status" > "Tire Pressure Monitor". Apply the drive-ready state and do not drive off. Then select "Reset" and drive off.
The wheels are shown in grey on the control display and a message appears that a reset is being carried out. After driving for several minutes, the set tire inflation pressures are adopted as setpoint values. The reset is automatically completed while driving.
MINI Ottawa recommends replacing your tires when they reach 3mm. Tread depth is not the only reason your tires could be deemed roadworthy, so it is important to check their general condition.
Check for cuts or breaks in the rubber larger than 25mm or 10% of the section width. Pay attention to visible inner cord that may have become exposed. Any bulges or lumps may indicate failure of the tire structure.
Tire pressure can drop when the weather gets colder. If your tire pressure warning appears, check your pressures and inflate them to the recommended levels, then complete a Tire Pressure Monitor reset in your MINI settings.
Pair Bluetooth, reset your MINI Connected password, and fix common connection issues.
For security reasons, mobile phone and Bluetooth mobile phone preparation have to undergo a one-off registration "pairing" procedure. If a mobile phone has already been registered in the vehicle, the connection will be made automatically when you start your journey.
To establish the connection, make sure Bluetooth is activated both on the phone and in the vehicle. During registration, you will be asked to enter a pass key. Choose a key with at least four numbers and avoid common combinations.
To request a password reset choose "Forgot your password?" on the login screen in the MINI Connected app. If you are already logged in you will have to log out at [Info] [Settings] [Account settings] [Log out] to change your password.
Try removing the device from your MINI Bluetooth list and deleting the MINI pairing from your phone, then pair again. If the issue continues, restart your phone and confirm Bluetooth permissions are enabled.
