MINI Ottawa Model Guide
Compare the size, seating and everyday versatility of the 2026 MINI lineup--and see what has been announced for 2027.
MINI vehicles are designed to feel agile and easy to place on the road, but "MINI" no longer means one size. The current family ranges from the compact Cooper 3 Door to the roomier Cooper 5 Door, open-air Convertible and SUV-sized Countryman.
The right choice depends on how many people you regularly carry, how much cargo space you need and whether your daily drive calls for maximum city-friendly manoeuvrability or more all-purpose versatility.

The Original Icon
The Cooper 3 Door is the most compact model in the current MINI family. Its short overall length makes it especially well suited to downtown driving, compact parking spaces and drivers who want the most traditional MINI silhouette.
Although compact outside, the rear seatbacks can be folded in a 60/40 split to create up to approximately 725 litres of cargo capacity. It is a strong fit for one or two regular occupants who occasionally need space for friends or larger items.

The Cooper 5 Door stretches the familiar MINI shape to provide easier rear-seat access, seating for up to five and greater cargo flexibility. It remains compact enough for urban driving but gives passengers and luggage a little more breathing room.
Its approximately 4.04-metre length makes it only modestly longer than the 3 Door, while the folding rear seats provide up to approximately 925 litres of cargo capacity.
Full Canadian specifications for every 2027 Cooper 5 Door configuration may not yet be published. Contact MINI Ottawa to confirm model-year timing, ordering and availability.

The Cooper Convertible keeps a footprint similar to the Cooper 3 Door while replacing the fixed roof with a power-operated soft top. It seats up to four and is designed for drivers who value open-air motoring more than maximum cargo capacity.
Its compact length helps preserve the agile, easy-to-park character associated with MINI. The available luggage space is smaller than in the hatchback models and can vary depending on the roof position and cargo configuration.
MINI Canada currently identifies Cooper C and Cooper S Convertible configurations, with JCW Convertible models offering a more performance-focused alternative. Equipment, pricing and availability can change by production date and retailer allocation.

The Countryman is the largest member of the current MINI family. At approximately 4.44 metres long, it provides SUV-style passenger space, a taller seating position and considerably more cargo capacity than the Cooper models.
It is a practical choice for drivers who regularly carry rear-seat passengers, recreational equipment, luggage or larger grocery loads. Current Canadian Countryman models feature standard ALL4 All-Wheel Drive, with both combustion-engine and all-electric configurations represented in the lineup.
For drivers looking for SUV versatility, standard all-wheel drive and a conventional fuel-powered drivetrain. Exact output and equipment vary by configuration.
The All-Electric Countryman combines the same spacious body style with electric driving. Estimated range and charging performance vary with wheels, temperature, driving habits, charging conditions and other factors.
MINI Canada has published information for the 2027 Countryman SE ALL4 Elementary Edition. It retains key features such as ALL4 All-Wheel Drive, a panoramic glass sunroof and the circular OLED display, while the final availability of all 2027 Countryman trims may vary by retailer.
MINI Canada also notes that eligible new internal-combustion MINI vehicles from model year 2027 onward include a scheduled maintenance plan for two years or 40,000 kilometres, whichever comes first. Program terms, exclusions and eligibility should be confirmed at the time of purchase.

John Cooper Works is MINI's performance family rather than one single body size. Depending on the model year and Canadian lineup, JCW choices may include compact Cooper-based models, a Convertible and the larger JCW Countryman.
That means choosing a JCW does not automatically mean choosing the smallest MINI. A Cooper-based JCW keeps the city-friendly footprint of the Cooper family, while the JCW Countryman adds SUV proportions, rear-seat space and greater cargo flexibility.
| JCW Type | Relative Size | Ideal For |
|---|---|---|
| JCW Cooper | Compact | Drivers prioritizing agility and the classic MINI format |
| JCW Convertible | Compact | Open-air motoring with a performance focus |
| JCW Countryman | SUV-sized | Performance with more passenger and cargo space |
JCW availability, output, features and specifications can differ by model, model year and equipment. Contact MINI Ottawa for current 2026 inventory and upcoming 2027 ordering information.
